We had a worm-themed afternoon today. Have you ever tried worm charming? How about outdoor worm yoga? We played, read, sang, got muddy, had a black bird funeral and rode in a train. All in one Forest School afternoon.

What a wonderful worship today with Mrs Sims, we learnt about a special journey for Mary and Joseph and spoke about what it means to be a refugee. They made a dangerous and long journey where they had to find safe places to stay. Joseph turned to God to ask for protection for baby Jesus and themselves from King Herod. We heard all about a special spider who worked all night to spin a magical web to protect where they were hidden in a cave. The sun shone on the magnificent web creating rainbow colours as a distraction , king Herod said there could be nobody in the cave as the web had not been broken and he continued to search. Mary, Joseph and Jesus continued their journey safely to Egypt which was a safe place for them to stay. God had cared for them and taken them to a safe place. Once they found out that Herod was no longer King, they started their journey back home.

Gnomes had the most incredible day in London yesterday exploring the Natural History Museum and the Science Museum. Lots of amazing memories made; we even found Mary Anning's fossils!

For the big school bird watch, we found out about the different species of birds on our school grounds, we spotted birds and counted them, and we made our own birds with paper plates. Of course we made time for playing with our friends in the mud! And there is so much mud at the moment!! We had a campfire in the rain and lovely warm drinks and a snack.

We made the most of the rain today with some shelter building, dinosaur water slides, and puddle splashing. We're lucky to have our outdoor classroom where we made apple hedgehog bird feeders and shared hot drinks and a story.

We kept busy at Forest School today - lots of running around to keep warm and a nice warm drink around the fire. We did some ice painting, made a train, identified some trees using twig ID, and lots and lots of play. We were visited by an inquisitive robin so we made some bird feeders too.
