Booking and Additional Information
Nocton Community Primary acts as the administration for Hoglets Pre-School and will allocate places for term time sessions.
Hoglets Pre-school accepts children from the age of 3 years up to school age.
Funding:
Funded places are available for 3 year olds meeting specific criteria found at www.childcarechoices.gov.uk
All pre-school children aged 3 or 4 are entitled to 15 hours of free provision provided over 38 weeks, payable in the term after their 3rd birthday. Some parents may also be able to access a 30hours free childcare funding code from
Funded childcare may be provided in any nursery class in school, in private provision or in any maintained nursery class. Parents should decide the type and flexibility of provision they require from their chosen provider before they apply for a place. Attendance at Little Sparks does not guarantee admission to our Reception class nor give advantage to a child’s application to our Reception class. Parents must make a separate application for the transfer from a nursery to a primary or infant school to the Local Authority.
Age:
All children, subject to the availability of places, can start following their third birthday. We support funded and non-funded hours, therefore an Expression of Interest must indicate which is the case.
We recommend that a minimum of 15 hours is ultimately reached, with a minimum of two sessions initially in order to build continuity and be able to work on all areas of the Early Year Foundation Stage. However, we appreciate that children beginning this transition at the age of 4 may build up to these hours, this may not be the only setting used and parents may wish to wait for funded hours to apply.
Pre-School Families who do not qualify for the 15hr or 30hr free childcare remission available through the Childcare Choices website pay for the hours booked via Arbor.
Any additional hours on top of any free childcare remission will charged at the following rate:
• Three and four year olds - £5.10 per hour.
Absences from a booked session will still be charged. Cancellation of a place will be accepted with a full terms notice (4 months). Families must ensure that they provide the school with their Childcare Choices code in a timely manner and ensure that this is reviewed regularly (every 3 months or as per web link).
Extras charges can be made to cover the provision of:
• Food and drink for snack times
• Specialist teachers (eg music, PE, art)
• Ingredients for special events
• Trips Charges will be reviewed in line with the costs of the trip being booked.
