SPIRES FEDERATION GOVERNING BODY

The Governors of  The Spires Federation are a group of volunteers who carry overall responsibility for the school. We comprise representatives from the local community, parents, and those who work at the schools. It is our job to act as “critical friends”, monitoring the life of the school, the delivery of the curriculum, and the finances which pay for it all. The full governing body meets six times a year,  where matters surrounding finance and personnel, curriculum and the buildings and site are all discussed. All the Governors feel a real sense of privilege at being part of The Spires Federation and enjoy working to make sure that the education provided for the children is the best it can be. Please take a read below and find out who are Governors are:

My interests include cycling, running, skiing, swimming, walking, making and growing things. I am most at home in the countryside particularly fields, mountains and forests. My interest in young people’s education has been lifelong. I am passionate about children acquiring skills of curiosity and understanding and developing an approach to learning which will equip them for the many challenges which they will encounter in their life. I taught secondary mathematic for thirty-eight years and have had the real delight in witnessing the progression of young people into mature and responsible adults.
