Special Educational Needs and Disabilities
Our SEND provision across the Federation is led by Miss Natalie Vaughan.
At the Spires Federation, we consider ourselves to be small, nurturing schools. Our staff know each individual child and our ‘family feel’ enables us to have positive relationships with children and parents throughout the school. Through working together between home and school, we aim to create a positive and supportive environment for all pupils through quality first teaching and our nurturing whole-school ethos. We work to remove barriers for our pupils with SEND and increase support so that all learner’s needs are met enabling them to thrive and enjoy the curriculum.
Our pupils are provided with a high-quality education which allows them to make links between their own life and the wider world. Teachers and support staff work together to identify any additional needs or areas of difficulty our pupils may have through day-to-day observations, work scrutinies, assessments and where needed, support from external agencies.
Once identified, these focus areas become embedded within school life and the children are supported through a range of methods, including small-group or one-to-one intervention, adaptations and tailored strategies whee appropriate.
Alongside this, the mental health and well-being of our pupils is paramount and we are able to offer in-school and external support to ensure our pupils have the tools they need to achieve their goals.
